I just got done talking with my pastor and it’s hard to believe that this Sunday will be my last Sunday service at church before I head out.  This whole thing has been a roller coaster of emotions for me.  So many different thoughts and emotions that I haven’t really been able to process everything.  Next week Jen, her parents, and I head to Arkansas for Thanksgiving and drive straight back here on November 30th.  Then December 1st to head out to Fort Bragg until Christmas and at that time I’ll come home for about a week and then head out to Camp Shelby.

Friday I went to see the new James Bond flick with Jen and some friends.  I thought it was a pretty good movie.  I agree it was not as great as Casino Royal story wise, but it was an action packed movie.  The story was not as clear as the last movie, you had to pick it up as you went.  Granted the villain was named Mr. Green, not very scary, and he was an environmental villain, still not very scary.  Minor details I say, overall a decent movie.

Jen gave me something so amazing that I can only say fabutastic (I promise you this is a word…ok you caught me Jen and I combined fabulous and fantastic into one word (dorks I know)).  She made me a scrap book to take along with me.  She had all sorts of people send in letters and pictures. She had friends from my old job, my current boss, her family, and most of my family all write something.  Not just the scrapbook, but overall people have really stepped up beyond what I imagined to help Jen and I during this time.  I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart.

Saturday was my farewell cookout.  We had a huge turnout, had to be over 50.  A bunch of people from our church and some friends, and plus my boss came out with his family.  Which by the way he brought me favorite soda/pop/soft drink, depending where you are in the US, Guarana.  I found out about Guarana on the mission trip to Brazil a few years ago.  He went to Brazil last month for a work trip and I asked him to pick med up a few if he could.

Other then that not much going on.  Work has been pretty slow…really slow, I’ve been slowly handing stuff over to the new guy.  So far he’s been kind of shaky, but he is only here temporary…hopefully he works out while I’m gone.

Till next time f0lks.

I remember as a kid sitting around watching Bond weekend on TBS with my Dad.  I’ve seen them all, Connery, Moore, Timothy Dalton, and even Pierce Brosan (not my favorite).  But since Daniel Craig took over as Bond I become a bigger fan of Bond.  I knew people had there concerns about him, but in my opinion probably the best Bond.  So onto why I posted this, a new trailer for Bond’s new movie Quantum of Solace has been released and it looks awesome.

Well it was another drill weekend and things are getting better. I actually stayed busy the whole weekend. Sorry no exciting stories of drill weekend, unless you find putting promotion packets together exciting. I discovered that I did not get awarded the Global War on Terrorism Medal. I should have gotten awarded this while I was in my old unit for my deployments and for some reason I did not. I sent an e-mail out to someone in my Guard unit who should know about it and now I just wait. Part of my commitment of the Guard is that I do two weeks (14 Days) of active duty time and over the weekend I needed to put down my dates I wanted and I realized how stinkin busy I’m going to be in the coming months. I’m going to be travelling at least once a week of every month, there’s one month I’m gone for a week come home for the weekend and then leave again, and then for my AT time with the Guard I’ll be doing in between traveling for work. So ya I’ll be busy.

Saturday night Jen, her dad, and I went to see Iron Man and what a movie that was. Being that I used to collect comic I could not wait for this movie and If you just like movies I highly recommend it and if you love comics, like me, then stay after the credits for a nice little surprise. In my opinion I believe it set bar for comic book movies.

Till next time folks…

Friday night Jen and I went and saw Jumper with some of her co-workers.  By the way, I knew movies were expensive, but my goodness I almost pooped my pants when the lady, who we will call Witch, said 19.50 for not five tickets but two tickets.  I had to ask her how many tickets I just ordered, but Witch confirmed it’s 9.50 per ticket.  I asked Witch if they had Military Discounts and she promptly said “No, it’s AMC’s policy”.  After some discussion of how ridiculous it is that they do not have military discounts I paid the 19.50 and left.  I guess when I turned my back she didn’t know that my lovely wife Jen was watching and she caught Witch laughing.  I talked the manager, but the manager about Witch laughing, but that was pretty useless.  I’m half tempted to put AMC theaters on the “List” they would be joining a highlighted cast of Wal-Mart, Orlando, and Jacksonville…we shall see.  Back to Jumper, it was an alright movie I mean I wouldn’t nominate it for an Academy Award.  Jen said she kept waiting for the climatic part of the movie and before she knew it was over.  She felt like nothing really happened and I can see that.

Sunday night was the premiere of the new Knight Rider TV movie.  I grew up watching Knight Rider and I still watch it if I can catch an episode of it on TV, so I was really looking forward to it.  Jen and I watched about an hour of it before we went to bed.  I probably would have watched the whole thing, but I was a bit disappointed.  The opening song was somewhat like the original and the acting I think could have been better.   Don’t get me wrong there were some good parts in the movie, but nothing that really grabbed my attention.  I’ll watch the rest probably tonight and just hope that NBC does not destroy my childhood show.

All they need next is to remake Airwolf, but if the TV movie destroys that memory I don’t know what I will do.  Maybe they should just leave it how it is.

So most of you know about my decision of reenlisting into the Guard and I’m going to get with the recruiter sometime this week and sit down and talk about the units around here.  Pending on what happens with that, I am more than likely going to reenlist.  Eventually I will need to take physical fitness test so I started running again so I can back into shape and boy oh boy my legs are killing me.  Long distance running has always been my weak point so I really need to work at it.  For the test I need to run 2 miles in 16:36 so I really need to get to work.

Till next time folks….

The Batman sequel, The Dark Knight, is looking to be just as awesome as the first one. I see they changed the batman outfit again, but it can’t be as bad as this one… Anyways, I found these images a couple weeks ago and didn’t think of posting up until today.

Here are the images

Can’t wait :D

Supersize Me!

Supersize ME

This weekend was pretty laid back for the most part. Saturday morning I went mountain bike riding with Travis (what else is new?), and then we went and had a good ol’ fashion North Carolina breakfast…not sure what good ol fashion North Carolina breakfast is, but it just sounded good. Then Jen had lunch with some girlfriends of hers.

Sunday we had church and we’re starting the book of Jude. Ah yes, the small one chapter book right before Revelation. When was the last time you heard a message from Jude, if ever? Read through it and you may know why. I’ll post more on that once we get into it more. We watched a small 6 minute video that had the whole church in tears and once I find that I’ll post it up here. After service I needed to get out and ride. I went up to the White Water Center and did about 4 miles in 45 minutes, which is pretty good for me for that course. I was telling Jen I can actually tell a difference in my body from when I originally started to now. Before I thought I was going to lose a lung every time I rode, but now I can finish pretty strong.

Last night Jen and I watched Supersize Me. If you ever want to stop eating fast food this is the movie for you. It is a documentary on the McDonald’s/fast food industry and the sad state of obesity in America. Morgan Spurlock, the genius behind this movie, goes on month long diet of only McDonald’s…breakfast, lunch and dinner. The results are astonishing. You’re probably saying to yourself, “of course they’re astonishing Bobby he ate McDonald’s for a month long.  Did you think he would get in great shape?” Well you’re right, but as he states in the movie, in the society we live in today there are people who eat like that. So yeah, I’m done with fast food….don’t think your salads from there are safe as they contain as many calories as a Big Mac….scary, I know. In the month period, his body weight went from 185.5 to 210. In addition he almost destroyed his liver. One doctor actually said his liver looked the same as someone who drank alcohol.

This problem roots itself all the way into children as far back to first grade. At one point of the movie, Morgan sat down with a group of 1st graders and flash card of some pretty famous people, at least I think so. George Washington….no idea and Jesus…..no idea, actually one child said “George Bush”. But when he got to the Ronald McDonald they knew right off the bat who he was.

Here is a link to a summary of the movie. I usually don’t recommend movies, but this movie is a really must see type thing, even for kids. Here are some facts from the movie.

FYI. I know there are people who read this because you’ve told me and I check my stats. If you ever want to comment on anything you have that ability and you don’t need any sort of account. If you click where it says comments it will bring you to a comment page.

So things are going alright, but could be better here I suppose. Jen and I will be looking to move out from her parents house within the next month or so. No, we did not sell the house, actually it’s been quite difficult for me to adjust to living there and it’s affecting me and Jen. Jen and I looked over our finance’s and we should be able to do it we’ll just need to cut back on some area’s of our life. However, at this point thought I don’t care, I rather go into foreclosures on the house then me and Jen fighting. Right now I’m so sick of that house back home and Jen and I praying that there’ll be a localized tornado/hurricane that comes through and totally destroys the house.

The other day I had an offer for a youth pastor position in another church. After talking with Jen, my pastor, and The Lord I felt it wasn’t time. My heart was not into and I don’t believe the Lord wants me to go yet. Actually, when I spoke with the pastor to tell him thank but no thank you he tried to make me feel guilty for not accepting.

The other night I was able to go to Transformers with Jen and that has to be the greatest movie of all time. That’s right AFI even better than Citizen Kane. I was blown away by the special effects and just how cool it was to see my childhood cartoon come to the big screen. Before Transformers I saw the greatest preview for a movie. Honestly, I don’t think I have ever seen a whole theater wet themselves from laughter: Spiderpig
