A Wrench in the Gears
It’s been awhile. Last week I was at my National Guard Armory for AT so I had limited access to a computer. This week I’m back to work sorta…the company I work for mans an AutoCAD help desk for IBM and one guy is out for vacation and I’m filling in for him. This is really the most boring part of my job because I sit around 95% of the time doing nothing.
No new news yet on my situation. Let me take a side-trail, I always hate it when people talk with words like situation or recent developments but don’t ever explain what the situation is. I hate when people do that and now I’m doing it, but if you want to know shoot me an e-mail and I might tell you. So back to my original thought, I was supposed to find out some news August 3rd, but that has been put off until the week of August 18th. We did get our tickets booked for the week of September 14th to go to Florida and Ohio.
I don’t think I’ve posted this bit of news on here, but Jen and I passed are motorcycle permit test. So we have motorcycle permits and as of the recent developments (see there it is again) I’m flip flopping on what I want to do with the truck. Originally I was going to sell the truck and buy a motorcycle, but now I don’t know what I’m going to do now. I do know that I really enjoy riding them. My neighbor let me take a ride on his motorcycle around the block a few times and Jen said I looked like a kid on Christmas morning. So if anyone has a motorcycle they want to lend me for a few weeks or a month let me know.
I just wanted to throw this up here, but if you’re a fan of Heroes here is the trailer for the new season. I was a bit skeptical of Heroes at first but after catching up last year I’m sold and can’t wait for season 3.
A Quick One
Just a quick bit of information. I made it back from Boulder, CO Friday. However, the Greensboro airport, Charlotte airport, or just someone is getting closer to being added to the “List” I just don’t know who. On my trip home from Charlotte to Greensboro we ended up sitting on the runway for about an hour or so. By the time we took off we should have been landing in Greensboro.
Anyways I posted a link down below with pictures from Boulder and the Colorado Rockies game.
Lastly, I think found out some information on being re-classed for the army. So it looks like September Jen and I will be heading to Florida and Ohio I just need to confirm it tomorrow when I’m at the Armory.
Till next time..
From Boulder
So the Boulder trip is going alright…I’m just ready to be home already. I’m really wanting to spend as much time at home as I possibly can since i will be leaving. If you don’t know what I’m talking about it’s cause I haven’t told you, but if you want to know e-mail me and I’ll tell you. Anyways back to Boulder, I really didn’t even need to come here because my boss decided to teach and I just sit in the back and do my regular work. Oh well I am going to a Rockies game and I also get to add Colorado to the list of other states I’ve visited. Which I think I’ve been to more states then Jen NY, FL, SC, NC, GA, AK, CO, NV, TN, IL, OH, OK, VA, CT, & CA….sorry Jen you were in the lead.
Boulder is nice, it’s way different then NC or FL…it’s really a hippie town. There is a great view of the Rockies from the site. Some of the caps still have snow on them. I got a few pictures from the IBM site and you may see what I’m talking about. You will see some pictures of a rabbits, they are everywhere…really you can’t walk without tripping over one.
Till next time…
Catching Up
So it’s been sometime since I’ve updated anything on here. Since I had National Guard AT for that one week I’ve been playing catch up at work and can’t seem to get ahead. I can’t wait for a break, which I don’t know when that will be. This weekend I have drill and then Monday I fly out to Boulder, CO for work and then come back for another week of National Guard AT and then school starts again in August.
I hope everyone had a nice 4th of July. Jen and I went up to Richmond, VA to see some old friends from Florida for the 4th. We went up Friday morning and left for home Saturday morning. Oh I almost forgot, the weekend before the fourth Jen, her mother, and I went to the Faith, Family, Freedom Festival. It’s a Christian concert with fireworks at the end. So Newsboys was headlining the event and if you get a chance to see them in concert do it. The drummer from Newsboys did something that I have never seen or heard of it. He did an incredible drum solo and me explaining it does not do it justice. You just have to watch the video below, but overall they are just unbelievable in concert. Honestly I was a bit apprehensive going, mainly because I think as I get older the more and more I do not want to be around people, but I’m so happy I went.
Some other news tomorrow Jen and I are going to be going to take our test for our motorcycle permits. What’s probably going to happen is once I get my permit and learn to ride I’m going to sell my truck and get a motorcycle to use as my daily commuting vehicle. Gas is just getting ridiculous and my truck does not exactly have the best gas mileage. Don’t know how true this is, but I heard last week that gas will be around 7 bucks a gallon in another two years. As much as gas has gone up I wouldn’t doubt it. The week I went back and forth to my Guard unit I spend about 200 bucks in gas I can’t imagine how much it would be at 7 bucks a gallon. Fortunately, Jen will be working 5 minutes from my office so we could carpool if need be.
Started doing a bit of 3D work in between projects and I’ll posted it up later today.
Till next time folks.
